Make a difference for only $10.00. Buy one solar light for one resident of Hinche
There are over 10 million people in Haiti. Of those, 75% -80% do not have access to electricity. Most rely on kerosene lamps or flashlights. Through the Shine a Light on Hinche campaign, we will bring light to every resident in Hinche— a city in central Haiti of about 50,000 people.
Since the earthquake, thousands of refugees have come to Hinche and people need lighting for the most basic activities, such as cooking and doing homework.
This solar-powered light was developed by FAARM’s Executive Director from work undertaken at Columbia University. It provides higher quality and longer lasting illumination than is possible with most popular methods of lighting independent of electrical grids. The Solar Puff can light a room of up to 100 square feet and provides task lighting for daily activities. Learn more about the Solar Puff.
By donating $10.00, you can give one Solar Puff to one person and provide a basic necessity.
